Festa para o lancamento do openSUSE 12.1!

Estamos quase lá!

Em poucas horas, o openSUSE, mais uma vez apresentará ao mundo uma nova e melhorada versão de sua distribuição. Motivo para comemorar! E vamos comemorar. Atualmente, cerca de 11 festas já foram registradas, mas sabemos que muitas outras estão sendo organizados, então pedimos que você adicione a sua festa na página wiki !

Organize sua própria festa

Definitivamente, nunca é tarde para organizar sua própria festa de lançamento do openSUSE 12.1 - apenas encontre um lugar agradável ou um escritório e convide as pessoas! Você convida as pessoas, adiciona a festa no wiki, chama alguns amigos e parentes além de enviar  tweets e posts do facebook nas páginas do openSUSE!   Vai ser divertido, nós garantimos.

É sempre bom ter algumas coisas para dar de presente em uma festa de lançamento. A equipe de marketing do openSUSE tem muitas coisas legais como adesivos, panfletos, DVDs e camisetas que podemos enviar para você! Você poderia fazer pequena loteria ou doar algumas coisas a longo tempo para contribuidores locais do openSUSE e os DVDs e panfletos você pode entregar para que as pessoas possam distribuir aos seus amigos e parentes. Se quiser saber mais algumas dicas sobre como organizar uma festa, verificar como fazer uma festa !

Se você quiser organizar uma festa de lançamento e obter estes materiais, adicione sua festa na página wiki e a ordem dos materiais através deste site . Deixe claro na descrição que deseja o material para uma festa de lançamento para que priorizem o seu pedido!

Conte com pelo menos duas semanas de transporte e manuseio na Europa e nos EUA, e de 3-4 semanas no resto do mundo.

7th ODF Plugfest in Gouda

For those that might care, your servant will be attending this week the ODF Plugfest #7 in Gouda (Netherlands).

I will have on Friday a short presentation of the best free and open source library for parsing Microsoft Visio Documents. The other exciting thing is that after more then 6 years of common collaboration I will get to meet personally one of my libwpd co-maintainers, Johannes Marcus Maurer also know as "uwog".

What an exciting time before us!!!

MV-1: La llegada

Finalmente, llegue a Mountain View, CA. Me recibió en su casa mi amigo Yuri, tambien compañero de la facultad. Vine a una compañia, llamada Appcelerator. En el camino, vi este cielo maravilloso:


Por otro lado, la compañia donde trabajo esta haciendo algo bien interesante, es una plataforma para la creación de apps móviles de forma más sencilla y rápida. Me encanta el concepto y más aun que se anuncian en 9gag, el sitio favorito de todos:


En este viaje, he estado muy contento, sobretodo viendo que se hacen cosas como Bouncy Mouse, que me parece uno de los mejores juegos para Android y Chrome. 

Me encantaría aprender un poco más de trucos como estos.  Me encantaría aprender más de la vida y del amor.

Running for the openSUSE Board (2011)

For those that aren’t subscribed to the openSUSE Project Mailinglist: As was announced last month, the Board is looking for some new blood. As such I intend to run for one of the available seats. Yes people, your lovable FunkyPenguin is hoping to be able to represent you and all your crazy ideas (I’ve got some of those myself ;-) ). I know of a few other candidates that are running, and they’re fine upstanding folk of the openSUSE community.

shutting down a iomega storcenter

For my backups I am using a iomega storcenter device.

All management is done by web interface and I needed a way to shut it down from a script.

Here is the script.
